How do you clean Narwhal Trading Co. Drinkware?
Although our products are tough, to ensure longevity we recommend handwashing our drinkware. To ensure your tumbler maintains its temperature-holding power and vibrant finish, please follow these simple care instructions:
1. Daily Cleaning
- Hand Wash Recommended: Wash your tumbler, lid, and straw with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge.
- Avoid Abrasives: Do not use steel wool, scouring pads, or harsh bleach-based cleaners. These can scratch the powder-coated finish and the interior stainless steel.
- Rinse Thoroughly: Ensure all soap residue is rinsed away to prevent any "off" flavors in your next drink.
2. Deep Cleaning
- The Lid Gasket: Occasionally remove the silicone rubber ring (gasket) from the lid. Clean underneath it with a small brush to prevent mold or residue buildup. Let it dry completely before reassembling.
- Removing Stains: For coffee or tea stains, create a paste using baking soda and water. Apply it to the interior, let it sit for 15 minutes, and scrub gently with a soft bottle brush.
3. Important Safety & Performance Rules
- No Microwave: Never place your stainless steel tumbler in the microwave.
- No Freezer: Do not place the tumbler in the freezer. The expansion of liquids as they freeze can damage the vacuum seal.
- Hot Liquid Caution: When filling with hot water or other liquids, let the steam vent for a moment before securing the lid. Pressure buildup from steam can cause the lid to pop or liquid to spray.
- Carbonated Beverage Caution: If using a carbonated beverage in a tumbler or mug be sure to off-gas the carbonation by slowly venting the lid of the tumbler or mug.
- Hand Dry: For a spot-free finish, dry the exterior with a microfiber cloth immediately after washing.
